East India And Indian Revolution
India had a blessing or to put forth in simple terms, India generated blessing, which came in the form of textiles. It had built up a world class reputation and was famed for being the textile producer across continents. Historians mention trade routes and business transactions that occurred before the Age of Empires started in India.
With the onset of East India Company, the textile business was becoming concentrated to sell the products only on British Markets. This created havoc as the sales and exports were haplessly curtailed. The pitiable part or the treacherous part was the incidence of return, whilst negotiating with the Kings and the People. The British government promised goods of higher values in return for the setting up of East India Company. On looking back to their homeland, they found that even their progenies were farming, so the greed of conquest overcame their greed of goods. They started offering up their reservoirs of minerals from their precious mines and started offering up to the Indians. Historians such as Pliny mention that, even the great Roman Empire sought to deplete its resource just for the textiles from India.
While the inception seemed naively good, and the Brits propaganda of equality was replaced by their original concept of brutality. The people of India woke up to the new British and did not see a friendly businessman after the Battle of Plassey. They saw tyrants, task masters, and the wealth of the country was being distributed amongst the children of Britain. This was also chanced by the fact of disintegration of Mughal Empire that was given to their trifling wars for dominion of lands, which the British tuned in to their favors. They supported the winning side openly and as time passed, they too started to involve themselves in territorial intrigues and soon declared war with the Bengal Maharaja.
Immediately there was a series of innovation which seemed to take place simultaneously everywhere. Initiated by the historic spinning jenny, it was soon followed by fly shuttle, and roller spinning machines. This could not be attributed to anything except the work of nature. After this outburst, a series of paranoiac wave of revolution blasted across the streets of Europe and British Empire. All though few sought to develop the fabric of it in India at that time, it's time we Indian proudly announce that the Industrial Revolution triggered off in London had its roots at India.
This purge of the Indian wealth deeply affected the state of business and economy of the nation. It paralyzed and crippled the funds and where there was fund shortage; there was a stunt of ideas, which ultimately lead to slavery of the Indians and Mastery of the British. While they provided Indians with education, religion, care centers and many other noble qualities, yet they sought not to improve the financial backbone of India. This laid India in heavy shackles of slavery, thereby postponing the Revolution that was supposed to have happened before the independence. It brought about a huge transformation and stirred the industrial revolution to begin its race.
