Industrial Revolution Cause And Effect
India prides itself to have solid foundations when it comes to the Indian Economy. In the earlier days, it was a country that was under the tumult of British Rule and suffered amidst the tale of corruption. It is now stable and with a certain degree of pride, we can base its root on the Industrial Revolution that shook our economy. It was actually a blessing in disguise from our foster economists, the British.
The GDP's growth is seeing an accelerated pace and this article tries to give an abstract information about the cause and the effect of the Indian Industrial Revolution.
The story starts from Europe, a land where people once flourished under good grains and Christian ideologies. The country however had one stark drawback compared to the Asians - Harsh Weather. Wherein Asians were blessed with good weather, Europeans had to survive the harshness of chilly winters. It affected the produce of crop, for half of the seasons they had to be dependant on their contemporary Asians for grains. Europeans had already conceived and gave birth to the idea of Industrial Revolution, thanks to the Economists. This dependency gave a passion for possession, an idea native to them as the heroes of the Great Game already had a deep impact on them. Thus began the great ideal of colonization.
Initially started as a business, the East India Company set up its looms and offered natives better living. They no longer had to wake up at 5 every day and go fishing and return home despondent if ever there was no catch. All they had to do now was spin heirlooms and were paid much more than what they earned in meager fishing. The kings were pleased as they were buttered with commissions. The British had now become acceptable as they were the providers. However the British were not only decreasing the unemployment, they were also learning something, the art of establishing territories.
The Battle of Plassey could be well said as the first practical application of that learnt art. Now after setting up a foot hold, they did what no other Kings had ever done before. They Preached the Gospel, by imported missionaries and bibles. They wanted to create a sub intelligent society that accepted their rule and worked for them. This paved way for a revolution in industrialized classes.
Many companies were established, Railway Lines, Bus Routes, and Sea Routes were constructed. A lot of researchers were asked to work with the Indian Scientist to find out the minerals and products exclusive in India and Indian spices were unheard of in the European counterparts. Capital, Raw Materials - the much needed Saviors of European's stumbling economy, was available in plenty. The British had planned it all and understood the need for exploitation and in a way set up the motor of Revolution in India to fuel their own.
However, they also had to control it, when they started realizing that they were giving them power. Many individualistic companies started cropping up, and within 20 years India achieved its massive Industrial Revolution.
